Fishing season is in full swing right now in Minnesota! There's nothing like going out on the boat and catching some sunfish or walleye to bring home and fry up.
What goes best with some fresh, breaded lake fish? Homemade Tartar Sauce! I was never much of a tartar sauce fan and usually went without, until I tried this recipe. You really can't get any simpler than this. The pickles and lemon add a tangy flavor and the herbs add that much needed freshness.
This recipe is enough for a few people, but it's easy enough to multiply the recipe for larger crowds. We tend to have a huge fish fry when everyone comes off the lake at dinnertime. It's also great with fried shrimp, crab cakes, tuna or salmon burgers.
We love making homemade sauces and condiments. If you want to try making your own, give this Cilantro Lime Aioli, homemade pesto, cocktail sauce or strawberry balsamic vinaigrette a try!
