My girls absolutely love lemonade! We love experimenting with different flavors, adding soda for a sparkling twist, blending it with ice for slushies, or mixing in fresh-squeezed citrus juice for a new flavor every time.

This homemade strawberry lemonade is a favorite in our house! Made with just four simple ingredients, it’s incredibly refreshing, and you can even add your favorite alcohol for a delicious adult beverage.

It’s perfect for summer gatherings, backyard barbecues, or just cooling off on a warm day. Plus, it’s easy to adjust the sweetness and tartness to suit your taste!

Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 cups cold water
  • ice cubes
  • lemon slices, fresh strawberries or fresh mint for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar has dissolved completely. Remove syrup from heat and let it cool for about 30 minutes.
  2. While the syrup is cooling, add the strawberries and a little water to a blender or food processor. Blend to make a puree.
  3. In a large pitcher, mix the cooled syrup, strawberry puree, lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well.
  4. Taste your lemonade and if it’s too sweet, add more lemon juice. If it’s too tart, add more water or a bit more sugar, depending on your preference.
  5. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or to individual glasses. Garnish with lemon slices, whole strawberries, and mint, if using.
