I first made these Candy Cane Kiss Muddy Buddies for the open house celebration when we purchased our home through Habitat for Humanity. They were such a hit and everyone absolutely loved them.

This recipe has become a Christmas staple for our family. We make them almost every year, and sometimes more if I pick up an extra bag of Candy Cane Kisses.

I have to admit, I'm addicted to Candy Cane Kisses and always look forward to seeing them in the stores around Christmastime. Since they're such a favorite, I decided to melt them down with some baking chips and create this version of muddy buddies, aka puppy chow.

They're sweet, a little crunchy from the Chex and sprinkles and have the most perfect peppermint flavor. Such a perfect holiday treat and also great for gifting!
