If you're a fan of Nashville Hot Fried Chicken, then you'll love these amazing potatoes!

This recipe is made with five simple ingredients and takes less than 30 minutes to make. It's great served as a side dish or as an appetizer.

These potatoes are so addicting. They're crispy and spicy. I used the Nashville hot chicken seasoning in the buttermilk and in the flour to make sure these potatoes have a burst of hot chicken flavor in each bite.

If you have people who aren't a fan of spicy foods, you can make half the batch with a different seasoning blend and fry those up first.

These potatoes can be served with hot sauce, ranch, or with any dip you prefer or have on hand. Ranch is a great pair with these potatoes because it tones down the spiciness some. We also love to serve them with our favorite, Smash Burgers! Such a perfect pair!

Nashville Hot Chicken Fried Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 russet potatoes, scrubbed clean, dried and thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning, divided
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of Nashville hot chicken seasoning to a bowl of buttermilk. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the potato slices to the seasoned buttermilk. Mix to coat all the potatoes and let set for 15 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, mix 3 tablespoons of Nashville hot chicken seasoning and flour. Mix until combined.
  4. Dredge the potatoes into the flour one at a time, coating both sides.
  5. Transfer over to a plate, or a parchment lined baking sheet and allow to dry for about 15 minutes. While the potato slices are resting in the flour mixture coating, heat your cooking oil to 325 degrees F.
  6. One at a time, drop the potatoes into the hot oil.
  7. Allow to cook for about 3 minutes or until a nice golden brown.
  8. Remove and place on a wire cooling rack placed on a baking sheet and allow to drip for a few moments.
  9. Serve with hot sauce, spicy ranch, or with any dip you prefer.
